A unique whole cloth Asian Inspired art quilt measuring 24 by 28.5 inches. This OOAK fiber art would add an Asian flavor to your home or office decor. Titled "View Through Tattered Curtains", this piece was recently exhibited in a gallery show called "Put a Bird On It". The quilt has been embellished with a woven silk panel and hand stitching. The background is a beautifully designed Asian fabric with undulating hills, trees, and a flock of heron.
This piece has been machine quilted with hand stitched embellishment to highlight the design elements. The fabric colors include shades of gold, black, brown, cream, turquoise and metallic. The "tattered curtain" has been woven with strips of sari silk on a piece of gold gridded silk fabric and then embellished with hand embroidery. The piece is finished off with the addition of the metallic heron flying over the quilt. This was an ornament I picked up in Tokyo. T
